State Wrestling Tourney Begins

The first day of the 2010 Iowa State Wretsling Championships eliminated one member of the Emmetsburg/Armstrong-Ringsted/Ruthven-Ayrshire E’Hawk lineup.

At 112 pounds, E’Hawk sophomore Isaac Lundgren was eliminated from the tournament after a first-round loss to Chase Flack, and then lost his wrestleback match to Chase Goodman.

The other three E’Hawk wrestlers remained alive to advance to the quarterfinal round on Thursday.

Skyler Rice defeated Tom Mahoney to advance at 135.

Joey Naig also won, defeating Tyler Down at 160 pounds and at 189 pounds, Jake Morris defeated Jack Manning to advance.
