Wolverines Split With Knights

GRAETTINGER – The Knights of Graettinger/Terril split games with West Bend-Mallard Friday night, with the Knights earning a win over the Wolverine boys and the Lady Wolverines taking the win over the Knight girls.

In the girls contest, West Bend-Mallard earned the 57-35 win over Graettinger/Terril. The Lady Wolverines took an 11-6 lead after one quarter and claimed a 34-14 lead at the intermission. West Bend-Mallard improved its lead to 46-26 after three quarters and went on to record the 57-35 victory.

For West Bend-Mallard, Missy Abrahamson led the way with 14 points, while Kara Vanderhorst added 10 points. Erica Fehr added eight points. with Amanda Frieden and McKenzie Grimm both chipping in seven points. Kayla Banwart had five points, while Jessica Fehr added four points and Carrie Hefty and Wendy Grimm each added two points. Amanda Frieden led the defense with 11 rebounds for the Lady Wolverines, while Missy Abrahamson handed out nine assists.

For Graettinger/Terril, Amanda Oleson had 11 points, while Dakota Hovinga added eight points. Lindsay Flaharty chipped in six points, while Tasha Neilson came up with four points and Mariah Girres added three points. Tiffany Harris scored two points and Hailey Nelson added one point. Lindsay Flaharty and Amanda Oleson both pulled down six rebounds in the effort.

West Bend-Mallard girls improve to 10-6 with the win, while Graettinger/Terril slips to 4-8.

In the boys contest, Graettinger/Terril jumped out to a 21-7 lead and extended the advantage to 41-19 at the intermission. The Knights stretched the lead to 57-22 after three quarters and sailed on to the 79-33 margin of victory.

Beau Craig led the Knights with 19 points, while Cody Dyhrkopp added 16 points. Colin Leiting and Ty Bisenius both scored 10 points each, while Eric Hatland and Cody Chapman both scored six points. Mitch Girres and Kyler Dose both scored three points each, while Jesse Nissen, Blaze Alesch and Logan Flaherty all scored two points.

For the Wolverines, Taylor Foley led the effort with 15 points, with Jake Goodchild adding 11 points. Clay Douglas chipped in five points and Jake Umsted added two points.

West Bend-Mallard falls to 1-13 overall, while G/T improves to 9-4 overall.
