E’Hawks Sweep Final Lakes League Duals

With a sweep over LeMars and Estherville Lincoln Cental on Thursday night, the E’Hawks of Emmetsburg/Armstrong-Ringsted/Ruthven-Ayrshire completed the Lakes conference dual season with a mark of 6-1 and an overall dual meet record of 15-6.

Against LeMars, the E’Hawks claimed a 66-9 victory and against Estherville Lincoln Central, the E’Hawks posted a shutout with an 84-0 win.

Against LeMars, the E’Hawks opened at 145 with Austin McCartan taking a 3:23 win by fall over Brayton Ringsdorf. At 152, Andrew Wellik claimed a :38 win by fall over Jacob Johnson and at 160, Joey Naig tallied a win by fall in 1:00 over David Hernandez.

Howard Henkelvig tallied a :32 win by fall over Chris Hiserote in action at 171 pounds and at 189 pounds, Jake Morris earned a 1:06 win by fall over Kelly Lind to put the E’Hawks up 30-0.

At 215 pounds, Chris Krug lost a 14-11 decision to Justin Carpenter for the Bulldogs’ first points of the dual. In action at heavyweight, John Ruddy lost a 5-1 decision to Josh Munger, but at 103, Tyler Leuer got a win by forfeit, as did Nick Merwald at 112.

At 119, Isaac Lundgren tallied a 3:11 win by fall over C.J. Singer and at 125, Justin Studer tallied a 3:35 win by fall over Zach Delarn.

Brady Bailey came up short in a 6-0 decision to anthony Schimek in action at 130 pounds before Skyler Rice pinned Nathan Reiter in 1:18 of the 135 pound match. At 140 pounds, Jake Stubbs received a win by forfeit for the 66-9 final margin of victory.

Against the Midgets of Estherville Lincoln Central, Emmetsburg/AR/RA won every match by fall or forfeit.

Starting at 152 pounds, Andrew Wellik won by forfeit and at 160, Joey Naig scored a 2:24 win by fall over Aaron Howing. Howard Henkelvig tallied a 3:44 win by fall over Riley Edwards in action at 171 before Jake Morris at 189, Taylor Wegner at 215 and John Ruddy at 285 all received wins by forfeit. Tyler Leuer at 103, Nick Merwald at 112 and Isaac Lundgren at 119 all received wins by forfeit from the Midgets before Justin Studer collected a :50 win by fall over Austin Mitchel in action at 125 pounds.

Brady Bailey received a win by forfeit at 130 pounds, and at 135, Skyler Rice pinned Curtis Klingbeil in 1:09 of their match.

Jake Stubbs tallied a win by fall in 1:30 over Alex Blomquist at 140 pounds and Austin McCartan received a win by forfeit at 145 to tally the 84-0 win.
