WBM Girls Earn Wins

WEST?BEND – West Bend-Mallard’aLady Wolverines went 2-1 in games last week.

Starting on Tuesday, Ja. 12, West Bend-Mallard earned a 61-53 win over the Twin River Vally Thunder girls.

The Lady Wolverines got balanced scoring, led by the 19 points from Melissa Abrahamson and the 16 point efforts from both Erica and Jessica Fehr. Amanda Frieden added eight points and Kara Vanderhorst came away with two points.

Amanda Frieden would clean the glass, pulling down 15 rebounds in the effort, while Erica Fehr dished out five assists to her teamamates. Jessica Fehr made four steals for the Lady Wolverines in the winning effort.

Friday night, the Lady Wolverines collected a 50-47 win over Clay Central-Everly in action at Everly.

West Bend-Mallard got a double-double from Melissa Abrahamson with 17 points and 16 rebounds. Jessica Fehr added nine points, while Carrie Hefty and Amanda Frieden both added six points to the coffers. Erica Fehr chipped in five points along with Kara Vanderhorst to round out the scoring.

However, a contest out of the league on Saturday was not kind to the Lady Wolverines, as they fell to Manson Northwest Webster by a 92-19 score.

Melissa Abrahamson and Wendy Grimm led the scoring with four points each, while Amanda Frieden and Jessica Abrahamson both had three points each while Kayla Banwart and McKenzie Grimm each added two points. Jessica Fehr rounded out the scoring with one free throw.
