West Bend-Mallard Girls Down WCLT
WEST?BEND – The start of the second half of the roundball season was a good one for the Lady Wolverines of West Bend-Mallard, as they earned a51-42 victory Tuesday night over Woden-Crystal Lake-Titonka.
The Lady Wolverines led the entire way, taking a 12-11 lead after the first stanza and then slipping out to a 25-19 advantage at the intermission.
West Bend-Mallard would be able to maintain its lead in the third quarter, holding a four-point, 33-29 lead to start the final quarter, and expanded their lead to nine points over WCLT for the 51-42 victory.
Melissa Abrahamson would spark the Lady Wolverines with 16 points in the win, while Amanda Frieden came up with a dozen markers and Carrie Hefty added 10 points. Jessica Fehr would contribute seven points, while Kara Vanderhorst, Heidi Zaugg and Mackenzie Banwart each donated two points to the cause.
The win improves the Lady Wolverines to 7-3 overall as they prepare to host Harris-Lake Park on Friday night in West Bend.
