E’Hawks Sweep Knights, Generals In Double Dual
SIBLEY – It’s always a good thing to get some momentum going right away in a wrestling dual. The Emmetsburg/Armstrong-Ringsted/Ruthven-Ayrshire E’Hawks did just that on Tuesday night with victories over Graettinger/Terril and Sibley-Ocheyedan in a make up double dual as Sibley.
The E’Hawks manhandled Sibley-Ocheyedan by a 51-21 tally, and then defeated the Knights in an inter-county battle by a 44-24 margin.
Against the Generals of Sibley-Ocheyedan, the E’Hawks started with a win by fall for Tyler Leuer, as he pinned Brent Reed in :36 of the 103 pound match. In the second dual of the night, the E’Hawks squared off with in-county rival Graettinger/Terril, looking for a little revenge after a loss to the Knights last year.

At 119 pounds, Isaac Lundgren reeled off a series of takedowns against Austin Thompson to score a 22-6 Technical Fall in 3:44 of their match.
Nick Schany would meet Tyler Manning in the 125 pound match and trailed 4-2 going into the final period, but received a penalty point and an escape to tie the match, before scoring a takedown, but Manning earned a late escape, only to run out of time as Schany earned the 6-5 decision win.
Trent Lundgren would execute a leg cradle against the E’Hawks’ Brady Bailey in the 130 pound match, but didn’t get the pin, and would settle for an 8-6 decision win over the E’Hawk to make the score 9-8 in favor of the Knights.

The Knights would earn the last victory of the match at 103 pounds when Tyler Dalen earned a 4-1 decision victory over the E’Hawks’ Tyler Leuer.
