Raiders Win Big, Tally 300th For Coach

RUTHVEN – The Raiders of Ruthven-Ayrshire collected a pair of wins in boys hoops action this weekend, and in the process, gave their coach his 300th win of his career.

On Friday, Ruthven-Ayrshire downed Clay Central-Everly by a 62-58 tally and on Saturday, the Raiders blasted Aurelia by an 82-30 mark.

On Friday, the Raiders played some tough defense and worked the boards hard in taking the 62-58 win over the Mavericks in Everly. Ryan Sikora would lead the Raiders with 28 points on the night, while teammate Mark Geelan added 17 markers. Colton Bakken came up with 12 points, while Logan Fischer had three points and Zach Loring added two markers.

Geelan and Bakken both pulled down 13 rebounds in the winning effort, while Sikora dished out six assists.

The win over CC-E?was Coach Randy Hough’s 300th Career Victory, and his players gave him a present with an 82-30 win at Aurelia.

The effort was never really in doubt on Saturday as Ruthven-Ayrshire would get almost everyone in the act. Ryan Sikora led the way with 23 points, followed by Trevin Enderson with 15 points, Mark Geelan with 13 and Colton Bakken with 10. Logan Fischer added nine, while Zach Loring added eight points and Kyle Toillion came up with four points.

Mark Geelan crashed the boards for 13 rebounds in the win.

“It was a good night to play different combinations of players to see how they performed as a unit,”?noted Coach Hough.
