Knights Fall To ELC?Midgets
GRAETTINGER – Graettinger/Terril’s Knights stepped out of the conference Saturday night to travel to Estherville to take on the Midgets of Estherville Lincoln Central. ELC would get the better of the Knights in a 62-38 contest.
Graettinger/Terril fell behind early, with the Midgets taking a 15-6 lead after the first quarter and then edging out to a 26-15 advantage at the end of the first half.
The Midgets would continue to hold their lead through the third quarter, posting a 43-25 advantage after three frames, and went on to record the 62-38 final margin of victory.
Estherville Lincoln Central really gave us trouble on offense and defense,“?noted G/T Head Coach Brent Dyhrkopp. “As a result, we struggled on our offense and defense. But, we have to give ELC credit, they made us play the way we did.“
The Knights were led by Beau Craig with 12 points, while Colin Leiting added eight points and Eric Hatland chipped in six.
Colin Leiting would pull down six rebounds, while Eric Hatland and Beau Craig both grabbed four boards and Cody Chapman had three.
Eric Hatland dished out three assists, while Cody Dyhrkopp had two helpers and Cody Chapman had one assist.
Cody Dyhrkopp would make four steals in the game while Colin Leiting added three thefts. Cody Chapman and Ty Bisenius both added two steals to the effort.
“ELC?played tough defense, shot the ball well on offense and really out-muscled us on both ends of the court,“?Dyhrkopp admitted. “In the second half, we did cut the lead to 10 points. We did hit three three-pointers in the second half, and our press did get a few turnovers in the fourth quarter.”
Graettinger/Terril travels to Everly tonight and then travels to Armstrong-Ringsted on Friday night.
