Knights Give Fans A Taste At Jamboree

GRAETTINGER – Fans of the Graettinger/Terril boys got a chance to see their Knights in action Friday night at the annual G/T Boys Jamboree. The host Knights would earn a 34-29 win over Estherville Lincoln Central in the nightcap game of the event, which featured two-quarter scrimmages between Harris-Lake Park and Bishop Garrigan and Spirit Lake and North Sentral Kossuth.

In the Knights’ portion of the Jamboree, Graettinger/Terril jumped out to an early lead over the Midgets, but Estherville Lincoln Central came back in the closing stages of the first quarter to tie the game. But, the Knights would edge back out to a 20-17 advantage to start the final quarter.

The two teams would trade baskets for most of the period, but Graettinger/Terril used a pair of three-point shots and some foul shots down the line to end up with a five-point, 34-29 win over the Midgets.

For Graettinger/Terril, the Knights were paced by senior Cody Dyhrkopp’s 16 point effort. Beau Craig tallied nine points in the effort, while Eric Hatland chipped in four points. Colin Leiting added three points to the effort and Mitch Girres rounded out the effort with two points.

The Knights open the regular season tonight (Tuesday) at Terril by hosting Harris-Lake Park.
