Williamson Scores 1,000 Collegiate Point In Win
SIOUX?CITY – A former Emmetsburg High School prep standout and Ruthven native accomplished another milestone in her basketball career this week.
Brittany Williamson, the daughter of Roger and Lori Williamsom of Ruthven, scored her 1,000th career point for Morningside College in Morningside’s 79-63 victory over Grand View University in a game played Tuesday night, Nov. 3. The game was played at the Rosen Verdoorn Sports Center on the Morningside College campus in Sioux City.
Williamson, a senior forward for Coach Jaime Sales and the Lady Mustangs of Morningside, tallied the 1,000th point in her 10 point performance against Grand View.
The six-foot senior has averaged 9.1 points per game in her 110-game college career at Morningside, and is the 19th player in Morningside Women’s basketball history to achieve the honor.
Williamson averaged 12.2 points per game and 5 rebounds per game last season during Morningside’s NAIA?Division II?National Championship.
