RUTHVEN – The season ended not in the manner that the Ruthven-Ayrshire Raiders had hoped for Friday night in an 18-14 loss to Harris-Lake Park.

The Raiders would get touchdowns from Zach Loring and Trevin Enderson in the contest, but a late turnover would lead to the game-winning score for the Wolves and force the Raiders to settle for a 2-5 mark in Eight-man District Two and 3-6 overall record on the season.

“We’re not happy with the loss, but when you look back over the season, we made great strides as a team and great progress,” noted Ruthven-Ayrshire Head Coach Larry Swingen. “These kids worked very hard all season long, and they’re already talking about being in the weight room and working on next season.”

Overall, the Raiders gained 212 yards of rushing off 36 carries. Zach Loring would gain 121 yards off 25 rushes, while Trevin Enderson added 78 yards off six carries. Carter Williamson had two carries for four yards, while Calvin Pomeroy and Michael Sundall each had a four-yard carry and Kyle Toillion had a one yard run.

Trevin Enderson connected on three of eight passes to gain 40 yards, with Ryan Sikora making two catches for 30 yards and Mark Geelan making a 10 yard reception for the Raiders.

Defensively, the Raiders got 13 tackles from Trevin Enderson, while Zach Loring and Colton Bakken both had 11 tackles.

“I can’t say enough about these kids’ spirit and desire,”?Swingen said. “We had some tough games but they never quit fighting and I couldn’t be any prouder.”
