Lady Wolverines Down West Hancock

WEST?BEND – The Lady Wolverines of West Bend-Mallard closed out their regular volleyball season with a 3-0 sweep of West Hancock Thursday night at Britt. WBM over West Hancock in 3 games. Coach Kelly Menning’s squad won by game scores of 25-14, 25-17 and 25-19.

Amanda Frieden had solid game at the net, coming away with 24 of 26 hits with 10 kills. Jessica Fehr added 13 of 16 hits with nine kills for the Lady Wolverines, and also connected on 12 of 14 serving attempts with one ace. Fehr also added eight digs to the winning effort.

Kara Vanderhorst would complete 14 of 15 serves with a pair of aces and dug out five shots, while Erica Fehr made 10 of 12 serves with three aces and eight digs.

Carrie Hefty would make 14 of her 16 serves and dished out 23 assists to her teammates. Nicole Gearhart added six of seven serves with nine digs and Kenzie Banwart rounded out the efforts with seven of seven hits with four kills.

The Lady Wolverines enter the post season on Wednesday night when they meet Laurens-Marathon in a Class 1A Regional First Round game at Lauren-Marathon High School. Game time will be at 7 p.m.
