GRAETTINGER – The Knights of Graettinger/Terril picked up a big 3-1 win over Laurens-Marathon in volleyball action Monday night. The Knights won by game scores of 26-24, 25-22, 14-25 and 25-20.

“The Knights were able to capitalize on early mistakes by LM and played consistent throughout the night,” noted Co-coach Jeff Stansgard. “The Knights’ success was due in large part to serve efficiency and great sets by Lindsay Flaharty.”

Tasha Nielson would have an outstanding night at the net, with 21 kills to lead the Knights’ attack. Nikki Brown added nine kills and Dakota Hovinga came away with six kills.

Lindsay Flaharty would dish out 24 assists to her teammates on the night and at the serving line, Dakota Hovinga would come up with 29 successful serves with five aces, while teammate Morgan Mortenson added 19 serves with one ace.

Dakota Hovinga would field 23 serves, while Hailey Nelson fielded 15 serves and Callie Herke fielded 10 serves.

Dakota Hovinga also dug out 20 shots, while Hailey Nelson and Tasha Nielson both dug out 19 shots.

“The Knights were led by seniors Tasha Neilson and Dakota Hovinga, who played their final match in the GT gym.” Stansgard noted. “They’ve been great team leaders for us all season long.

Graettinger/Terril opens post-season play on Wednesday, Oct. 21, meeting Harris-Lake Park at Lake Park in a 7 p.m. match.
