Knights Split League Matches

GRAETTINGER – The Knights of Graettinger/Terrl earned a split in a pair of Cornbelt Conference matches Thursday night, losing to Woden- Crystal Lake-Titonka 3-2 and then defeating Armstrong-Ringsted 3-1.

Against WCLT, game scores were 25-18, 17-25, 25-16, 12-25 and 5-15. Against Armstrong-Ringsted, the Knights won by scores of 25-13, 23-25, 25-16 and 25-8.

Tasha Nielson had a career night as she piled up 24 kills against Armstrong-Ringsted, while teammate Lindsay Flaharty had a career-hight 35 assists against the Mustangs.

Tasha Nielson would end the night with 39 kills, while Dakota Hovinga had 21 and Nikki Brown hammered down 11.

Dakota Hovinga would dig out 24 shots, while Lindsay Flaharty dug out 23 shots and Tasha Neilson made 21 digs.

Lindsay Flaharty would issued 51 assists in the matches, while at the serving line, Dakota Hovinga made 38 serves with three aces. Morgan Mortenson also made 38 serves with a pair of aces and Logan Clabaugh added 35 serves with two aces.

Dakota Hovinga fielded 39 serves, with Alissa Simington receiving 21 serves and Hailey Nelson fielding 17 serves.

“The Knights struggled to find rhythm against a very competitive and surprising WCLT squad,” noted GT Co-coach Jeff Stansgard. “WCLT played a great defensive game and threw off the Knights offense, which seemed to struggle to get going. But, we played a very good and well-balanced game against Armstrong-Ringsted.”
