Lady Wolverines Down Harris-Lake Park
WEST?BEND – It took five games to determine the outcome, but West Bend-Mallard’s Lady Wolverines persevered over a pesky Harris-Lake Park squad in Cornbelt Conference volleyball action Tuesday night.
West Bend-Mallard won the match by game scores of 25-16, 12-25, 25-18, 9-25 and 15-9.
For the Lady Wolverines, Carrie Hefty led the way on the floor with 25 of 26 service completions and four ace serves. Hefty also dug out seven shots and issued 27 assists to her teammates in the match.
Amanda Frieden would lead he offensive attack at the net with 17 kills.
Serving was a major factor in the win for the Lady Wolverines, as Nicole Gearhart connected on 14 of 15 serves with three aces, and also tallied 13 digs.
Kara Vanderhorst made 12 of 13 serves and had three aces and made six digs.
Erica Fehr would make 13 of 14 serves for West Bend-Mallard, and dug out 24 shots from her libero position. Teammate Jessica Fehr made nine of 11 serves, dug out 11 shots, and made 12 of 14 hits with four kills in the win.
