Lady Wolverines Earn Trio Of League Victories

WEST?BEND – The Lady Wolverines of West Bend-Mallard earned a trio of Cornbelt Conference volleyball victories in the past week with a win last Thursday over Clay Central-Everly in three-straight games and a 3-1 win over Armstrong-Ringsted. On Tuesday night, the West Bend-Mallard netters claimed a hard-fought, 3-1 victory over Woden-Crystal Lake-Titonka.

In Thursday’s match, the Lady Wolverines were victorious by game scores of 25-23, 25-23 and 25-18.

Carrie Hefty was perfect at the serving line with 20 of 20 serves and two aces, while dishing out 18 assists to her teammates.

Erica Fehr added 12 of 12 serves with an ace, while Amanda Frieden went 25 of 27 at the net with 12 kills and blocked seven shots. Jessica Fehr added five kills in the winning effort.

Against Armstrong-Ringsted, the Lady Wolverines earned the 3-1 win by game scores of 25-15, 25-8, 21-25 and 27-25.

Nicole Gearhart would connect on 21 of 22 serves swith four aces and made five digs in the match, while Carrie Hefty added 12 of 14 serves with a pair of aces and handed out 31 assists.

Erica Fehr connected on 15 of 16 serves with one ace, hit seven of seven shots and made six digs. Kenzie Banwart went nine of 11 in hitting and had four kills, while Amanda Frieden was perfect at the net, hitting 16 of 16 attempts with 12 kills and five blocked shots. Missy Abrahamson also had a good match at the net, making 23 of 29 hits with 12 kills and blocking four shots.

Tuesday night, the Lady Wolverines faced off against Woden-Crystal Lake-Titonka and earned a 3-1 victory.

Amanda Frieden would make 29 of 30 hits in the match with 13 kills and blocked five shots. Erica Fehr completed 20 of 21 service attempts and earned eight aces, and dug out 15 shots.

Carrie Hefty dished out 26 assists and completed 20 of 20 serves with four aces, while teammate Jessica Fehr made eight digs, hammered down seven kills and blocked two shots in the winning effort.
