Harriers Run Hard At Blustery Algona Invite

WHITTEMORE – It was a bit blustery with a brisk north wind, but Emmetsburg’s cross country teams ran hard at the Algona Invitational meet Monday afternoon at the Whittemore Country Club.

For the Lady E’Hawks, Allory Kliegl rejoined the ranks after being out with an injury and ran in the JV race, finishing 80th with a time of 23:16.

Rachael Moore would lead the varsity girls with a 16:53 clocking for 21st place, while Blake Schany finished in 57th place with an 18:04 time.

Caroline Flom turned in a 19:01 time for 77th place, while Tayler Bruns finished 96th with a time of 20:04 and Tacee Leebens was 102nd overall in a time of 20:41.

For the E’Hawk varsity, Zach Overberg led the efforts with a 47th place finish in a time of 19:01, while Austin Dunnick was 68th in a time of 19:48. Chad Loomis was one spot behind in 69th place with a 19:54 clocking and Allen Dunnick finished in 20:00 to take 72nd place. Jared Janssen finished in 78th place with a time of 20:21 and Max Jones rounded out the effort with a time of 24:19 for 101st place finish.

For the Middle School girls, Taylor Reimer finished 11th and medalied with a time of 14:09 and Hadley Egland also medaled with a 14:47 for 20th place. Rachel Ruddy finished in 55th place with a time of 1556:27, while Tegan Olson was 57th in 16:29 and Maddison Reimer finished 80th in 17:09.
