E’Hawk Harriers Run Well At ELC?Invite

Emmetsburg’s E’Hawk Cross Country team ran in Tuesday’s Estherville Lincoln Central Invitational and earned three medal placings in the event.

For the Lady E’Hawks, Rachael Moore would turn in a time of 16:49, earning a ninth place finish overall on the day. The winning time of 15:43 was tallied by Katie Fevold of Humboldt.

Emmetsburg’s Blake Schany would finish in 26th place with a time of 18:17 and also earned a medal placing for the Lady E’Hawks. Caroline Flom finished in 39th place with a time of 19:11, while Tacee Leebens would edge out teammate Tayler Bruns by :01. Tacee finished in 48th place with a 20:44 time, while Tayler was 49th in 20:45 and Teanna Leebens finished 52nd with a 22:49 effort.

In the varsity boys competition, newcomer Zach Overberg would earn a 22nd place finish with his time of 19:55, while Allen Dunnick would earn the 30th place finish with his time of 20:34. Austin Dunnick finished in 21:23 for the 32nd finishing position, while Chad Loomis was 39th with a 22:19 clocking and Jared Janssen finished in 41st place with a time of 22:32.

The E’Hawk junior varsity boys also competed on Tuesday and were led by Max Jones with a 25:15 time, good for 31st place in the field. Daniel Pelzer turned in a 27:43 time to finish in 37th place in the JV run and Wesley Luna-Smith finished 40th a time of 30:39.

The E’Hawks and Lady E’Hawks will host their own invitational cross country meet this coming Monday, Sept. 14, at the Five Island Golf Course. Events will begin at 5 p.m. sharp. All E’Hawk fans are invited and encouraged to turn out on Monday evening to cheer on the cross country runners at the Five Island Golf Course.
