The Emmetsburg Recreation Department will be sponsoring the E’Hawk Boy’s Flag Football program again this Fall. The program will be offered three days per week, Tuesday and Thursday afternoons and on Saturday mornings.

The joint Flag Football programs will officially begin on Saturday, Aug. 28, with weekday sessions starting on Aug. 31.

This year, the flag football program will be based at the old Emmetsburg Middle School Football Field. This program will run on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons from 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm and will be coached by former E’Hawk players.

The Saturday program will be begin on Aug. 28 with a Football Clinic, put on by the varsity E’Hawk Football coaching staff. The clinic will be held from 10:00AM – 11:15 AM at the Middle School Football Field for grades 1st through 6th grade.

As in the past two years, the E’Hawk Flag Football program will warp up with the Third Annual Saturday-Night-Under-the-Lights event – this will take place on Saturday night October 3rd at 6:00 pm. This event allows our young men to show-case their talents on Duane Twait Field and we invite the entire community to attend and support our future E’Hawks.

The E’Hawk Flag Football Program is designed to teach the basic rules and fundamentals of the game as well as promote teamwork and sportsmanship. Each session will include practice drills as well as games.

A small participation fee for each yoouth is required for participation in the E’Hawk Flag Football prorgram. This fee is payable to the Emmetsburg Recreation Department. If you have any questions, please call Mike Dunlap, City Recreation Director at 852-3383.

All participants in the E’Hawk Flag Football program will receive a special gift for their participation.
