Knights Shut Out By Mustangs

GRAETTINGER – The Graettinger/Terril Knights were on the wrong end of a 10-0 shutout loss to Armstrong-Ringsted last Wednesday night at Armstrong. The two teams met back on May 30 at the Woden-Crystal Lake-Titonka with A-R winning 7-5.

On Wednesday, A/R’s Ridge Christiansen gave up three hits while striking out 11 batters with no walks in the win over the Knights.

A/R would take an early 1-0 lead before the Knights threatened in the second with a leadoff single by Mitch Girres. Blaze Alesch would also reach off an Armstrong-Ringsted error.

A pair of strikeouts would follow before Beau Craig singled to load the bases. However, Christiansen recorded his fifth strikeout to end the inning.

A/R would shove runs over the plate in the third, and would eventually take a 10-0 lead over the Knights in the fifth to earn the 10-run victory in the fifth inning.

Tyler Dalen took the loss for Graettinger/Terril,giving up eight hits and three walks with three strikeouts.

The Knights are still searching for their first win of the season and will play at Clay-Central-Everly on Wednesday night, hoping to improve on their 0-3 record.
