RUTHVEN – Graettinger/Terril collected their second win of the season Monday night with a 13-0 shutout win over the Ruthven-Ayrshire girls at Ruthven. The game ended after three innings.

The contest started out without any scoring in the first inning, but Graettinger/Terril got the scoring race underway in the second inning as they plated eight runs in their at-bat opportunity.

The Knights would follow up with five more runs in the top of the third and then held Ruthven-Ayrshire scoreless in the bottom of the inning to record the second win of the season for the Knight girls.

Absences of many of the Knights’ regular roster called for replacement and younger players to step up, but G/T Head Coach Stephanie Hanson was pleased with their efforts. “We had a lot of first timers on the field.”

The Knights would collect a total of nine hits in the victory. Tasha Neilson was 2-3 with a double and two RBIs. Malorie Girres and Maddy Schany both also went 2-3, while Girres had an RBI to her credit.

Nikki Brown was 1-2 while Theresa Petersen and Hailley Nelson each went 1-3 at the plate.

Malorie Girres would earn the win in the circle for the Knights, as she gave up no hits and no walks with no strikeouts against the Raiders.
