Lady Wolverines Have Perfect Start

WEST?BEND – Three games and three wins to start a season is pretty respectable for any team and the West Bend-Mallar/Twin River Valley Lady Wolverines are enjoying that start. The Lady Wolverines earned a 4-0 win over Sioux Central on Tuesday, May 26, then downed north iowa by a 14-1 tally on Thursday before defeating Harris-Lake Park 7-0 on Friday.

Michaela Grimm got the wins in the circle for the Lady Wolverines in all three contests.

Against Sioux Central, Grimm struck out eight while allowing just two hits.

Kayla Hartman, Wendy Grimm and Michaela Grimm all had two hits, while Carrie Heft added a hit to the tally.

In action on Thursday night at Buffalo Center, the Lady Wolverines came away with a 14-1 win in a seven-inning contest. Once again, Michaela Grimm earned the win for the Purple and Gold, as she struck out six batters while surrendering five hits and one run.

Leading the offensive attack for West Bend-Mallard/Twin River Valley in the win were Missy Abrahamson and Michaela Grimm, who both went three of five with a double. Brittany Gambel went two of four with a double, while Carrie Hefty went two for five with a double.

MissyAbrahamson added two hits to the effort. Erin Studer, Kayla Hartman, Wendy Grimm and Nicole Gearhart all added singles to the winning effort.

The week concluded at West Bend on Friday night as the Lady Wolverines entertained Harris-Lake Park and earned a 7-0 win over the Wolves.

Michael Grimm struck out 10 Harris-Lake Park batters in the win, whil e allowing just three hits.

Kayla Hartman would go two of three with a double, as did teammateMissy Abrahamson in the win, while Wendy Grimm also had two of three hits on the night. Michaela Grimm added one of three hits to round out the seven-hit effort for the Lady Wolverines.
