Lady E’Hawks Win Own Relays

The Lady E’Hawks of Emmetsburg won their own track meet last Thursday. Runners from West Bend-Mallard/Twin River Valley, Graettinger/Terril and Ruthven-Ayrshire also competed on Thursday with successful efforts.

The Lady E’Hawks got a first place from Jordan Kerber in the 100 meter dash with a :13.05 and a first from Kayla Herbers in the 200 meter dash at :26.45, while Kaity Degen was first in the 400 meter dash with a 1:03.25.

Nicole Leuer was first in the 100 meter hurdles in :16.84, while Blake Schany won the 400 hurdles in 1:10.87. Morgan Vlasman won the high jump, clearing 4’10” and Nicole Leuer was first in the long jump, leaping 15’8″.

The Shuttle Hurdle Relay, with Leuer, Blake Schany, Herbers and Bailee Moore was first in 1:08.39, while the 4×100 with Kerber, Leuer, Maddison Woodruff and Mollie Smith were first in :%2.64, while the 4×200 relay, with Smith, Woodruff, Katie Malm and Herbers took first in 1:48.30.

Mollie Smith was second in the 100 meter dash at :13.29 and Rachael Moore was second in the 3000 meter run at 11:33.47, while Jordan Morris was second in the 100 meter hurdles in :17.54.

Emmetsburg’s Sprint Medley, with Smith, Kerber, Malm and Degen, took second in 1:56.03

Racheal Moore placed third in the 1500 meter run in 5:18.68 and Katelyn Schany was third in the discus, throwing 104’6“, while Jaymee Penrod took third in the 200 meter dash in :28.58.

Kaitlin Weisbrod was fourth in the 400 meter dash in 1:08.45 and Alyson Berven ran a 1:15.38 in the 400 hurdles for fourth place. Alex Lock earned fourth in the shot put, throwing 33’9.5″ and the 4×800 relay, with Katie Kassel, Barbara Arana, Marlit Schrodt and Weisbrod were fourth in 11:49.29.

Jordan Kerber placed fifth in the long jump, leaping 14’7.50” and the Distance Medley Relay of Bailee Moore, Tacee Leebens, Molli Schmeling and Hannah Reichert were fifth in 4:57.59.

Lady Wolverines

West Bend-Mallard/Twin River Valley girls picked up a second place finish at Thursday’s Lady E’Hawk Relays..

Jessica Abrahamson won the shot put with a throw of 35’10” and earned second place in the discus with a throw of 98’4“. Kaley Lempke won the 100 meter dash in a :13.75 clocking, while the 4×100 relay, with Shayla Simms, Laura Smith, Kaley Lempke and Michaela Grimm took first and set a new sharing record with a :54.33 effort. The 4×200 relay, with Simms, Megan Foth, Lempke an Smith, also set a new sharing record and took first in 1:54.35 and the Distance Medley, with Michaela Grimm, Smith, Amanda Frieden and Brooke Bennett finished first with their 4:38.31 clocking another new sharing record.

Missy Abrahamson took second in the shot put, throwing 34’9″ and then finished third in the discus with a 98′ throw. Wendy Grimm placed third in the long jump, leaping 14’1.75” Sara Foley took third in the 3000 meter run with a 12:44.25, a new personal record. Shayla Simms was third in the 100 meter dash with a :13.9 effort, while Brooke Bennett was third in the 800 meter run with a 2:43.43, a new sharing record.

Michaela Grimm placed third in the 200 meter dash with her time of: 28.49, while the Shuttle Hurdle Relay, with Bailey Cavanaugh, Simms, Elsie Howe and Madi Dahlhauser, took third with its’ 1:21.58 time. The Sprint Medley, comprised of Megan Foth, Missy Abrahamson, Wendy Grimm and Frieden, placed third in 2:05.10.

Brooke Bennett placed fourth in the 1500 meter run with a 5:46.63 and Laura Smith ran the 200 meter dash in a time of :28.83 for a fourth place finish. The 4×800 relay, with Sarah Eubank, Sarah Berte, Foth and Jennica Ruppert, placed fourth. The 4×400 relay, with Wendy Grimm, Frieden, Eubank and Elsie Howe, also placed fourth in a time of 4:53.06. Sara Foley took fifth in the 1500 meter run with a new personal record time of 5:52.79 and Wendy Grimm placed fifth in the 400 meter dash with a time of :68.98 to round out the placings for the Lady Wolverines.

Ruthven-Ayrshire

Ruthven-Ayrshire’s girls track team earned a pair of placings at Thursday’s Lady E’Hawk Relays.

For the Raiders, Sadie Forey would earn a fourth place finish in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 1:18.73, her seasons’ best effort. Forey would then earn a sixth place in the 400 dash with her time of 1:10.4.

Jessica Larson competed in the 100 meter dash, turning in a :17.00 time and a :35.30 clocking in the 200 meter dash. Miranda McGrauth also competed in the 100 and 200 meter dashes, where she finished with a :15.8 in the 100 meter dash and a :32.99 in the 200 meter dash.

Graettinger/Terril

A sixth place finish at the Emmetsburg Lady E’Hawk Relays on Thursday was the end result of a strong day of competition for the Knight girls of Graettinger/Terril. Coach Karlton Hector’s Knight placed sixth out of eight teams participating in the event last Thursday.

For the Knights, their 4X400 relay, with Alissa Simington, Lindsay Flaharty, Dakota Hovinga and Tasha Neilson, earned a third place finish with their 4:34.14 clocking. The Distance Medley Relay unit of Simington, Hovinga, Jassi Mehregani and Amanda Oleson, earned a fourth place finish with their time of 5:02.11. The Sprint Medley Relay, comprised of Hailey Nelson, Simington, Hovinga and Mehregani, took fifth place honors with a 2:12.07 clocking to round out the relay finishes.

Individual honors went to Tasha Neilson in the 200 meter dash with a :29.11 clocking for fifth place. Hailey Nelson earned fifth in the long jump, leaping 13’7.5″ and Lindsay Flaharty added a fifth place finish in the 100 meter dash with a :14.23 clocking and the 400 meter finish with a second place effort and :65.8 time. Flaharty also finished the 200 meter dash with a :30.22 time, good for sixth place. Amanda Oleson rounded out the finishes with a sixth place finish in the 800 meter run, turning in a time of 2:46.25 and a sixth place finish in the 1500 meter run with a 5:55.61 clocking.
