Raiders Run Well At Conference
ARMSTRONG – The Ruthven-Ayrshire Boys and Girls track teams ran strong at the Cornbelt Conference relays in Armstrong on Monday, May 4.
For the Raider girls, Sadie Forey would claim a sixth place finish in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 1:23.06.
Jessica Larson competed in the 100 meter dash with a time of :17.04 and the 200 meter dash in :36.76.
Miranda McGrauth ran in the 100 meter dash with a time of :17.00 and finished the 200 meter dash in :33.70.
Sadie Forey also ran in the 400 meter dash, finishing with a 1:10.62 clocking.
Overall, the Raider girls finished in ninth place in the team standings.
For the Raider boys, a sixth place finish was the end result of their efforts on Monday.
Bradley Geelan took second in the shot put with a 43’9” throw, his career best. Colton Bakken was fourth in the shot with a throw of 43’7″ and Alan Japenga took fourth in the 200 meter dash with a :24.93 clocking.
Ryan Sikora place fourth in the 800 meter run with a 2:21.42 clocking, while Michael Sundall turned in a 2:23.46 clocking in the 800 meter run.
Ruthven-Ayrshire’s 4×800 relay, comprised of Mark Langner, Trevin Enderson, Brandon Smith and Michael Sundall placed fifth in 10:02.84 and the 4×400 relay, with Brandon Smith, Trevin Enderson, Bradley Geelan and Alan Japenga placed fifth in 3:56.39
Alan Japenga was sixth in the 400 meter dash in :56.25 and the Medley relay of Geelan, Japenga, Smith and Ty Helmke was sixth in 4:58.49
Other finishes included Colton Bakken in the discus with a 95’5” throw and Jacob Evans throwing the discus 68’3″ and running the 100 meters in :19.17
Ryan Sikora ran the 400 meter dash in :59.90, while Mark Langner ran the 1600 meters in 5:42.47. Ty Helmke ran the 1600 in 5:51.91 and the 4×200 relay, with Smith, Geelan, Enderson and Sundall finished with a 1:47.31.
