Lady Wolverine Thinclads Making Great Strides
WEST?BEND – The Lady Wolverines of West Bend-Mallard/TRV are making other teams take notice with their constant improvements during the track and field season. On Tuesday, April 21, the WBM/TRV?girls took fourth place in Class 2A at the Manson Northwest Webster Relays.
“A couple of years ago, we would not have thought of scoring 100 points in a meet, which we’ve done in the last two meets,”?noted Head Coach Jamie Fehr. “We not only scored 93 points while running against 2A schools, we also beat a 2A school.”
A special highlight of the night for the Lady Wolverines was the new school record for TRV and a new sharing record for the 100 meter dash from Kaley Lemke, who turned in a :13.10 and earned third place honors.
Another record-setting performance came from Missay Abrahamson in the discus, where she set a new sharing mark and personal best with a 109′ throw, which won the competition.
Abrahamson took second in the shot put, throwing 35’1.75“, while Jessica Abrahamson took third in the shot, thowing 32’5” and then took fourth in the discus, throwing 94’7.5“.
The 4×200 relay, with Wendy Grimm, Kaley Lempke, Shayla Simms and Laura Smith, took third place with a 1:57.17 effort. The 4×800 relay, with Amanda Frieden, Bailey Cavanaugh, Haley Banwart and Sarah Berte, took fourth with a time of 12:17.84, while the Sprint Medley, with Missy Abrahamson, Jamie Klepper, Lempke and Jenny Auten, took fourth in 2:16.40. The 4×100, with Simms, Megan Foth, Lempke and Smith, took fourth in :56.32, while Wendy Grimm earned fourth in the long jump, leaping 13’5.75″, a new personal best mark.
Amanda Frieden took fourth in the 400 dash with a :69.06 and Laura Smith was fourth in the 200 dash with a :28.17 clocking.
The Shuttle Hurdle Relay of Madi Dahlhauser, Jamie Klepper, Elsie Howe and Bailey Cavanaugh finished with a 1:27.26 for fifth place and the 4×400 relay, with Frieden, Grimm, Simms and Smith took fifth in 4:51.78.
Rounding out the placings was Shayla Simms in the 100 meter dash with a :13.59 for sixth place.
