Emmetsburg Sending Three Entries To Drake Relays

Emmetsburg High School will be represented well this coming weekend at the 100th Anniversary Drake Relays, America’s Athletic Classic.

The E’Hawks and Lady E’Hawks will be represented in the high school competition of the internationally-known track and field meet at Drake Stadium in Des Moines.

Coach Dan Dooley’s Lady E’Hawks will send their Shuttle Hurdle Relay team to compete at 8:00 a.m. Saturday morning, April 25, on the distinctive blue Jim Duncan Track.

The relay members are Katie Malm, Bailee Moore, Kayla Herbers and Nicole Leuer.

The Lady E’Hawks will run in lanes five and six of the first heat of preliminaries on Saturday. The high school girls shuttle hurdle finals are set for 12:50 p.m. on Saturday.

For Coach Tyler Beving and the E’Hawk Track team, two entries will compete on the Jim Duncan Track.

Trevor Dettmann will open the E’Hawks’ appearance at Drake on Friday morning when he competes in the high school 110 high hurdles at 8:16 a.m. Dettmann will run in lane six of the fourth heat of preliminaries, with the finals of the 110 high hurdles for high school set for 11:29 a.m. Saturday.

Emmetsburg will also send its boys Shuttle Hurdle Relay to Drake, with the foursome of Jake Morris, Justin DeFord, Joey Naig and Dettmann running at 8:10 a.m. Saturday morning in lanes five and six of the third heat of preliminaries. The high school boys shuttle hurdle finals are set for 12:58 p.m. Saturday.
