Raider Tracksters Compete At CC-E Relays

SPENCER – Ruthven-Ayrshire’s boys and girls’ track teams got their first meet of the season in on Friday at the Clay Central-Everly Relays in Spencer. The Raider boys finished third with 36 points and the Lady Raiders took sixth place with five points.

For the girls, Sadie Forey finished third in the 400 hurdles with a 1:25.03 after falling while in the lead of the event. Miranda McGrauth took fifth in the 100 meter dash with a :16.12 and fifth in the 800 meter run with a 3:08 clocking.

Jessica Larson turned in a :17.12 in the 100 meter dash and a :46.19 clocking in the 200 meter dash, while Sadie Forey ran the 400 meter dash in 1:13.27. Cassiday Smith ran the 400 meter dash in 1:14.98.

Next action for the RA?Girls will be on April 20 at Armstrong-Ringsted.

For the Raider boys, Colton Bakken won the shot put with a throw of 44’1” and Alan Japenga won the 200 meter dash in :24.97. Bradley Geelan was second in the shot put with a 38’9″ throw, and Al Japenga too second in the 400 meter dash with a time of :57.62.

RA’s 4×800 relay, with Mark Langner, Michael Sundall, Brandon Smith and Trevin Enderson took second in 10:29.76.

The 4×400 relay, with Bradley Geelan, Michael Sundall, Trevin Enderson and Al Japenga, finished third in 4:05.25 and Brandon Smith earned third in the 400 hurdles with a 1:11.09 clocking.

Mark Langner would place fourth in the 1600 meter run with a time of 5:51 and Bradley Geelan added a fifth place finish in the 200 meter dash with a :26.12 clocking.

Michael Sundall rounded out the efforts with a 1:01.25 clocking in the 400 meter dash.

The Raiders will resume action Friday, April 17, at the ELC Relays in Estherville.
