Lady E’Hawks Run At Lakes Indoor Meet

SIOUX?CENTER – The track and field season began last Thursday for the Lady E’Hawk thinclads at the Lakes Conference Indoor Meet at Dordt College in Sioux Center. Coach Dan Dooley’s Lady E’Hawks turned in several solid performances and show lots of promise for the first outing of the season.

The varsity 4×200 relay, with Jayme?Penrod, Katie Malm, Mollie Smith and Kayla Herbers, took first place wit a 1:58.21 time to lead the Lady E’Hawk efforts.

Morgan Vlasman earned a second place finish in the high jump, clearing 4’8“, while Mollie Smith would take a third place finish in the 200 meter dash, turning in a time of :29.53.

Rachael Moore earned a fourth place finish in the long jump, leaping 14′ and Nichole Leuer took fifth place honors in the 55 meter hurdles with a .09.56 clocking.

Maddison Woodruff finished with a fifth place finish in the 200 meter dash with a :30.15 time and Emmetsburg’s 4×400 varsity relay, comprised of Kristin Weisbrod, Mariah Andreasen, Blake Schany and Kaity Degen, also earned a fifth place finish with a time of 4:36.37.

Other efforts included Aleysha Schutz with an :.08.49 in the 55 meter dash, while Alyson Berven finished in :.08.55 and Jordan Morris ran a :.08.74. In the 200 dash, Jordan Morris ran a :433.07 and Katelyn Schany ran a :34.43.

Barbara Arana ran the 800 meters in 3:19.85 and in the 55 hurdles, Kayla Herbers ran a :.09.76, while Bailee Moore ran a :.09-77 and Katie Malm ran a :.09.94.

The 4×200 quartet of Leuer, Woodruff, Tacee Leebens and Moore ran a 2:00.61 and the foursome of Alisha Dunnick, Alyson Berven, Brenda Tonderum and Aleysha Schutz ran a 2:09.98.

The 4×400 relay of Tacee Leebens, Amy Wood, Katie Kassel and Brenda Tonderum ran a 5:01.78 and the 4×800 relay of Kassel, Tayler Bruns, Blake Schany and Moore, ran a 12:30.05.

Mariah Andreasen cleared 4’4″ in the high jump, while Kaity Degen jumped 13’6” in the long jump and Jayme Penrod jumped 13’3″ in the long jump.

Alex Lock rounded out the efforts in the shot put with a throw of 29’1/2″.

The next action will be April 2 at Spirit Lake.
