Lady E’Hawks Fall At Pocahontas

POCAHONTAS – The final regular season game of the year saw Emmetsburg come up short in a 49-31 decision to Pocahontas Area/Pomeroy-Palmer on Thursday night.

The game started close with the two clubs trading baskets in the opening quarter, but Pocahontas Area would take an 8-6 lead at the end of the first frame and led 20-16 at the half-time break.

In the third quarter, the two teams would once again trade buckets, but the Lady E’Hawks couldn’t cut the margin to less than four points, trailing 31-27 to start the final quarter.

The Indians’ defense would shut Emmetsburg down to just four points in the final quarter for the 49-31 final score.

For Emmetsburg, Bailee Moore and Paige Naig both scored eight points, while Jackie Barnes added six points. Tiffany Wollum added three points to the effort and Bridget Rouse and Mollie Smith would both round out the scoring with two points each for the Lady E’Hawks.
