Knights Rally To Defeat Wolverines

WEST?BEND – Despite leading through the first half of their game with Graettinger/Terril on Friday, the West Bend-Mallard Wolverines couldn’t hang on and lost a 45-31 decision to the Knights.

West Bend-Mallard would play some great defense in the first quarter, holding the Knights to just five points and taking a 12-5 lead after one quarter. The defense continued to paly well in the second quarter, but the offense began to cool for the Wolverines, who posted a 21-15 lead at the halt time break.

In the third quarter, it was the Knights turn to hit the offense, as they began putting shots in the hole and made some good defensive stops to take the lead with a 29-26 tally.

G/T would continue to shut the Wolverines down in the final quarter to take the 45-31 final score.

For Graettinger/Terril, Beau Craig would pace the effort with a 21 point performance on the night. Cody Chapman would follow up with 15 points, while Cody Dyhrkopp added five points and Colin Leiting chipped in four points.

For West Bend-Mallard, Jon Runchey would lead the offense with nine points, while Matt Ruppert added seven points. Travis Goeders and Jake Goodchild would both score five points, while Chris Schmidt added three points and Darin Barnwart rounded out the scoring with two points.
