G/T Girls Earn Split In Games

GRAETTINGER – The Graettinger/Terril girls basketball team earned a 48-34 win over Laurens- Marathon Thursday, but lost to Twin River Valley on Friday by a 59-40 tally.

Against Laurens-Marathon, the Knights led the distance, paced by 22 points from Malorie Girres. Theresa Peterson added 11 points while Tasha Neilson came up with nine points. Leah Flaharty, Hailey Nelson and Dakota Hovinga each added two points to the tally.

After a strong showing on Thursday, the Knights seemed to be out of energy in Friday’s 59-40 loss to the Thunder of Twin River Valley.

Once again, Malorie Girres would lead Graettinger/Terril’s offensive efforts in the contest with 13 points, . Theresa Peterson would add 11 points to the effort, while Leah Flaharty chipped in seven points to the effort.

Tasha Neilson added four points, while Amanda Oleson came away with three points and Dakota Hovinga rounded out the scoring with two points.

Graettinger/Terril is 8-9 overall, 5-3 in the Cornbelt West Division and 3-7 in the Cornbelt Conference following the Friday loss.

The Knights were slated to host Corwith-Wesley-LuVerne in conference play monday night at Graettinger.
