By Staff | Jan 8, 2009

A pair of former E’Hawk wrestlers will be competing in one of the premier wrestling events in the nation this Saturday and Sunday.

Justin Kerber, wrestling at 184 pounds for Cornell University, and Jacob Naig, wrestling at 149 pounds for Wartburg College, will both wrestle this weekend at the Cliff Keen National Duals at the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls.

Kerber, who is in his second season at Cornell, has amassed a mark of 45 wins and 16 losses in his 61 bouts during 2008-2009. In Dual meets, Kerber has appeared in 10 bouts for Cornell, earning nine wins against one setback. Most recently, in action at the Desert Clash in Las Vegas before Christmas, Kerber went 2-2.

Kerber is the son of Jeff and Robin Kerber of Emmetsburg.

Jacob Naig was one of seven champions for the Knights of Wartburg at last weekend’s Cornell College Invitational in Mount Vernon. Naig, the son of Dallas and Lois Naig of Emmetsburg, was selected as the Outstanding Wrestler of the Matman Invitational at Mount Vernon, registering three falls and technical falls on his way to earning five wins.
