GRAETTINGER – The Knights of Graettinger/Terril earned a 2-1 mark in action last Thursday at Rockwell City. Coach Cody Alesch’s Knights earned wins over Pocahontas Area and Prairie Valley but came up short against Rockwell City-Lytton/Southern Cal..

The evening started against the Indians of Pocahontas Area, as the Knights earned a 44-33 win.

Starting a 145 pounds, Heath Marchand was pinned by Shane Kirkegarrd in 1:03, but Michael Jensen tallied a :57 win by fall over Spencer Beekman at 152 pounds. At 160, Drew Skattebo was pinned in :58 by Kendall Sommerlot, but at 171, Kass Schany earned a 17-2 Technical Fall over Tony Harrington.

Jake Hoffman took a 10-3 decision over Tom Brinkman at 189 pounds and at 215, Josh Anderson pinned Tyler Schneidmiller in 1:34. The Knights forfeited the heavyweight match, but at 103, Tyler Dalen won by forfeit. James Tatman scored a :59 win by fall over Taylor Hallberg and at 119, Trent Lundgren won by forfeit.

Tyler Manning was pinned in :37 of the 125 pound match by Daus Smith and at 130, Ryan Schany lost an 11-4 decision to Mike Meyer.

Logan Tonderum scored a 2:15 win by fall over Mick Archer at 135, but the Knights forfeited the 140 pound match to the Indians for the 44-33 final.

In the dual with the Prairie Valley, action started at 152 pounds where Michael Jensen earned a 1:20 win by fall over Blake Kromie. At 160, Drew Skattebo was pinned in 1:23 of his match with Jon Elmore, but at 171, Kass Schany came back to take a :48 win by fall over Jon Mundie.

Josh Anderson received a forfeit at 189 pounds for the Knights and at 215 pounds, Jake Hoffman pinned Jack Michalski in 1:24 of their contest. The Knights forfeited at heavyweight, but at 103, Tyler Dalen earned a 1:51 win by fall over Jake Lantz.

James Tatman earned a win by fall over Zach Angstrom in 1:06 at 112 pounds but at 119 pounds, Trent Lundgren lost a Technical Fall, 17-0, to Brayton Taylor and at 125, Ryan Schany lost his match, being pinned in :27 by Shay Taylor.

At 130 pounds, Tyler Manning was pinned in 3:44 by Tanner Leaman, but at 135, Logan Tonderum won a 3:05 pin over Brandon Millham.

The Knights would forfeit at 140 pounds and closed out the match with Heath Marchand receiving a win by forfeit at 145 pounds for the 48-35 victory.

Against Rockwell City-Lytton/Southern Cal, the Knights came up short in a a 32-42 decision.

Drew Skattebo was pinned in 2:20 by Brett Sexton in the 160 pound match, but at 171, Kass Schany took a 17-2 Technical Fall over Colten Riley. Nate Howard lost a close 6-5 decision to Kelan Richardson at 189 pounds, but at 215 pounds, Jake Hoffman scored a 2:43 win by fall over Davis Delance before the Knights forfeited the heavyweight match.

At 103 pounds, Tyler Dalen was pinned in 1:47 of his match with Kuinn Kraft, but Trent Lundgren received a win by forfeit at 112 pounds.

James Tatman claimed a 5-1 decision over Tate Klocke but at 125, Ryan Schany lost a 5-2 decision to Nathan West. Tyler Manning was pinned in :26 by Cody Hicks in the 130 pound match and at 135, Logan Tonderum received a win by forfeit.

Heath Marchand was pinned by Nathan Wuebker in the 140 pound match at at 145, Michael Jensen received an injury default victory over Kane Kraft before the Knights received a forfeit win at 152 for the 42-32 final tally.

“In all of these duals, the boys wrestled very hard,” noted Graettinger/Terril Head Coach Cody Alesch. “Our line-up was out of synch, and we were battling through some injures as well. Getting a pair of wins out of these three duals was a much better outcome than I had hoped for.”
