Knights Slip Past Armstrong-Ringsted
GRAETTINGER – The Knights of Graettinger/Terril claimed a 56-52 win over Armstrong-Ringsted on Friday night in boys basketball action. The Knights inprove to 2-0 overall on the year and 2-0 in Cornbelt play.
The Knights trailed after one quarter by a 21-15 tally, and cut the margin to 25-29 at the intermission. In the third quarter, the Knights outscored the Mustangs 13-7 to take a 38-36 lead, but could never pull away in the final quarter more than a couple buckets, but it was enough for the 56-52 final win.
Cody Chapman led Graettinger/Terril with 22 points, while Cody Dyhrkopp added 12 points in the effort. Beau Craig came up with nine points in the effort. Jesse Nissen and Eric Hatland both scored six points for the Knights, while Colin Leiting added a free throw to the effort.
“We did a great job of playing hard the entire game,” noted G/T Head Coach Brent Dyhrkopp. “Our hustle made up for the mistakes that we made early in the game.”
