GRAETTINGER – In a hard-fought battle Friday night, Graettinger/Terril claimed a 58-51 win over Armstrong-Ringsted Friday night in Cornbelt Conference basketball. The win gives the Knight girls a 2-1 mark overall on the season and 2-0 in the division.

Graettinger/Terril would take a 10-8 lead after the first quarter and clung to a four-point, 25-21 advantage at the intermission. The Knights pulled away from the Mustangs in the third quarter, using 18 points to take a 45-32 lead into the final quarter. However, A-R would battle back in the fourth quarter but the Knights held on for the 58-51 win. Malorie Girres led the Knights with 25 points, while Theresa Peterson added 11. Tasha Neilson had 10 points, while Leah Flaharty added six points. Dakota Hovinga chipped in four points and Amanda Oleson added two points.

“This was a tightly fought game until the middle of the third quarter when we scored 18 points. I’m proud of our defense and transition to the offensive end of the floor,” noted GT Head Coach Roger Conway. “This was a good team win over a good AR team, and was the most consistent our offense has been so far this season.”
