Raiders Take Wins
RUTHVEN – The Ruthven-Ayrshire Raiders collected a 57-42 win over Harris-Lake Park in Boys Cornbelt Conference basketball action Friday. Coupled with their 60-47 win over Armstrong-Ringsted on Tuesday, the Raiders are out to a 2-0 mark in both the Cornbelt and overall on the young season.
Against Armstrong-Ringsted, the Raiders used balanced scoring to collect the win over the Mustangs at Armstrong.
Carl Jensen led the Raiders with 20 points, while Ryan Sikora added 13 markers. Brad Geelan had nine points, while Alan Japenga added eight markers and Cody Zielstra had seven points. Shawn Molitor had two points and Kyle Simington added a rebound.
Against Harris-Lake Park, the Raiders got 11 points from Al Japenga, while Carl Jensen tallied 10 points. Ryan Sikora, Brad Geelan and Cody Zielstra all added eight points, while Kyle Simington had six points. Shawn Molitor came away with four points and Colton Bakken chipped in two points.
“We had balanced scoring and moved the ball very well on offense,” noted Ruthven-Ayrshire Head Coach Randy Hough following the wins.
