G/T Girls Down Harris-Lake Park
GRAETTINGER – A good defensive effort led to a 55-33 win for the Graettinger/Terril girls basketball team over Harris-Lake Park on tuesday night.
The Knights took a 14-6 lead after one quarter of play and stretched the lead to a 25-16 margin at the intermission in Lake Park. In the third quarter, G/T continued to play good defense, but struggled somewhat offensively to take a 33-28 lead at the end of the quarter. But in the fourth, the defense clamped down and allowed the Wolves to score just five points to claim the 55-33 win.
Theresa Petersen led the Knights with 16 points, including four three-pointers. Amanda Oleson added 10 points, while Tasha Neilson added six points to the mix. Leah and Lindsay Flaharty both scored four points and Dakota Hovinga chipped in three points.
Petersen also pulled down 11 rebounds in the contest and dished out five assists, while Leah Flaharty made five steals.
“Overall, I was pleased with our effort for the first game of the season,” noted G/T Head Coach Roger Conway. “The girls really gave a good defensive effort for the entire game.”
