Supporting The E’Hawks At The Dome

By Staff | Nov 20, 2008

Emmetsburg’s ninth try for a state championship this Saturday will mark the 33rd appearance of the E’Hawks in the state football playoff series, which began in 1974.

With a victory in Saturday’s title game with West Lyon, the E’Hawks can become only the second team in the history of the playoff series to win titles in three different classes of competition.

E’Hawk fans far and wide are gearing up for Saturday’s title game, making their plans for the trip to “Dome Sweet Dome” in Cedar Falls for the 10:05 a.m. kickoff.

On Saturday, Emmetsburg will once again be the visiting team, with the E’Hawk fans seated on the west side of the UNI Dome, the same as last weekend’s Semi-final contest.

Doors to the UNI Dome will open one hour prior to game time, at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.

For those needing admission tickets to the game, the advance tickets are still available for sale at the offices of the Emmetsburg high School, Middle School and West Elementary, until 3 p.m. .Friday. The Emmetsburg Community School district receives $.25 per advance ticket sold to the championship game.

E’Hawk fans are urged to wear their black and gold to Saturday’s game and wave their pom-poms, which were made possible through the efforts of the Partners In Education, Booster Club, EHS Student Council and Flag Football Program.

Finally, the Emmetsburg E’Hawks, along with their coaching and support staff, will be welcomed home to conclude their season in ceremonies at 5:30 p.m. Saturday evening, Nov. 22, in the Emmetsburg High School Gym. A brief program is planned at that time.

The public is encouraged to turn out and support the E’Hawks and congratulate them on a great season.
