Moore Finishes 50th At State Cross Country Meet
FORT DODGE – Emmetsburg’s Lady E’Hawks got a 50th place finish in the Class 1A girls State Cross Country Meet at Fort Dodge. For Moore, the State Meet appearance caps off a stellar campaign for the freshman harrier.
“Rachael ran a great race,” noted Emmetsburg Head Cross Country Coach Dan Dooley. “Her time was very respectable for a freshman and I thought she did very well. We’re all very proud of her effort, that’s for sure.”
At the State Meet on Saturday, Moore, running in her first state meet, earned a 50th place finish with a time of 16:20 out of the field of 126 competitors.
Moore turned in a one-mile time of 6:23, and a two-mile time of 13:12 on her way to her finish, a 6:49 pace for the event.
“It was a perfect day to run and I couldn’t be any prouder of Rachael and how she represented our school,” Dooley said. “Hopefully, we can build on her performance for next season and come back to Fort Dodge and the state meet with a full team next year.”
