Lady E’Hawks Fall To Sheldon

SHELDON – Emmetsburg’s Lady E’Hawks came up short in a 3-0 match to the Sheldon Orabs on Thursday evening. The loss drops Emmetsburg to 1-4 in Lakes Conference play and 2-15 overall on the season.

Emmetsburg fell by game scores of 5-25, 7-25 and 10-25 in the match.

Hannah Reichert led the serving with seven of seven and an ace, while Jackie Barnes made four of four. Mollie Smith added two of four serves, while Kayla Herbers had three of three and Nichole Hasbrouck added two of three, while Bailee Moore made two of three serves.

At the net, Kayla Herbers made 17 of 22 hits with five kills, while Jackie Barnes connected on seven of 10 hits with two kills. Mollie Smith made eight of nine hits with three kills and Morgan Vlasman added five of eight hits. Bailee Moore made three of three hits with one kill and Katelyn Schany added one of three hits.

Nichole Hasbrouck would dig out nine shots, while Mollie Smith added seven digs. Bailee Moore and Kayla Herbers both had three digs and Hannah Reichert added two digs to the effort. Bailee Moor would dish out seven assists on the night, while Hannah Reichert and Jackie Barnes each added one assist.

Emmetsburg will travel to Storm Lake tonight, Tuesday, October y for a Lakes Conference match with the Tornadoes, and then journeys to Hull on Thursday, Oct. 9, to take on the Wolfpack of Hull Western Christian.
