Harriers Continue Campaign At Sheldon Invitational
SHELDON – Continual improvement remains the goal of the Emmetsburg Cross Country teams. In their latest outing at the Sheldon Invitational on Tuesday, E’Hawk and Lady E’Hawk harriers continued to improve their season times and in some cases, improve their times from last season at the Sheldon event.
For the Lady E’Hawks, freshman Rachael Moore continued to pace the efforts, as she turned in a time of 16:05 to earn a medal placing with the 15th place showing.
Teammate Tacee Leebens would finish with a 17:32 clocking on Tuesday, which translated to 51st place in the girls varsity field.
Blake Schany took over a half-minute off her time from last year as she finished with a 17:43 clocking, which was 57th place.
Tayler Bruns would finish in 18:51 for 75th place and Kilay Dunnick turned in a time of 21:12 to finish in 84th place to round out the girls’ efforts.
Allen Dunnick would led Emmetsburg’s E’Hawk squad with a 53rd place finish, taking over two and a half minutes off his 2007 time of 20:34 and turning in a time of 17:42.
Chad Loomis would take the 79th place finish with his effort of 19:25 effort, while teammate Jared Janssen would cut over a minute off his 2007 finish by turning in a 19:27 time to earn 80th place.
Josh Lieb would round out the E’Hawks’ efforts with his time of 19:34, which was good for the 81st place finish,
The E’Hawks will next compete on Monday, Sept. 29, when they participate in the Algona Invitational, which will be run at the Whittemore Country Club, starting at 5 p.m.
