Raiders Edged In League Match
RUTHVEN – Ruthven-Ayrshire’s Raiders fell to Woden-Crystal Lake-Titonka by a 3-1 tally in Cornbelt Conference volleyball Tuesday night.
The Raiders fell 22-25 in game one, but won the second game 26-24, before falling by scores of 14-25 and 19-25.
Amanda Long led the serving with 18 of 20 and four aces, while Megan Alexander added 12 of 14 serves with one ace and Jessica Larson added 10 of 12 serves with three aces. Ale Blackburn had eight of 10 and Alyssa Groshens added five of 10 serves with two aces.
At the net, Sadie Forey led the effort with 22 o2 of 27 hits and seven kills, while Amanda Long added 11 of 16 hits with four kills and Ale Blackburn came away with nine of 13 with two kills.Alyssa Groshens came up with seven of 10 hits and two kills.
Megan Alexander dished out 11 assists and Amanda Long had one helper, while digging out nine shots. Sadie Forey had six digs, while Jessica Larson dug out five shots.
“Our play has been somewhat inconsistent and that has to improve if we’re going to put together some match wins,” noted RA Head Coach Kim Sierck. “After winning game two, the girls kind of went flat instead of capitalizing and using that momentum.”
