RUTHVEN – The Raiders of Ruthven-Ayrshire couldn’t buy a break in a 60-0 loss to Laurens-Marathon Friday night. The loss leaves the Raiders still searching for their first win of the season with an 0-3 overall mark and 0-1 in district play.

For the Raiders, rushing yardage was tough, as they gained 56 yards off 14 carries. Shawn Molitor would carry the ball six times for 28 yards, while Brad Geelan added four rushes for 28 yards. Kyle Simington had two carries for two yards and Justin Titus lost one yard on two carries.

Geelan attempted 23 passes on the night and completed just nine for 68 yards with two interceptions.

Ryan Sikora would make four catches for 50 yards on the night, while Mark Langner added three receptions for 18 yards for the Raiders.

Defensively, Brad Geelan led the defense with 13 tackles, while Mark Langner had 11 stops and Ryan Sikora added 10 stops to the effort.

The task will get no easier for the Raiders this Friday as they draw the unenviable assignment to travel to Armstrong-Ringsted to meet the Mustangs, who dispatched West Bend-Mallard by a 65-22 score last Friday night at West Bend.
