Harriers Open Campaign At Spirit Lake
SPIRIT LAKe – Emmetsburg’s Cross Country teams opened their season Tuesday at the Spirit Lake Invitational, and brought home one medal placing for their efforts.
Freshman Rachael Moore, competing in her first-ever cross country meet, finished 10th overall in the varsity girls with a 16.31 to lead the Lady E’Hawks. Tacee Leebens had a 17:49 for 31st, and Blake Schany was 32nd with a 17:58. Tayler Bruns had a 19:04 time for 44th place and Kilay Dunnick ran a 20:05 for 47th place.
In the boys division, Allen Dunnick led the E’Hawks with an 18:57 time for 34th place. Chad Loomis was 52nd in a time of 20:35 and Josh Lieb took 54th with a 20:50 effort. Jared Janssen placed 58th with a 21:38 time and Josh Kummer finished 60th with a time of 22:27.
“I was very pleased with the first efforts of the year,” noted E’Hawk Head Coach Dan Dooley. “All of the kids worked very hard and work hard each week to improve. Now we have a level to improve from.”
