Emmetsburg Booster Club Membership Drive Underway

By Staff | Aug 5, 2008

With the start of the 2008-09 school year just two weeks away, the annual membership drive for the Emmetsburg Athletic Booster Club is once again underway.

As always, the number one goal and main purpose of the Emmetsburg Athletic Booster Club is to provide supplemental funding to benefit all student athletes of the Emmetsburg Community High School.

During the 2007-2008school year, funds raised through the Booster Club were used to support basketball shoot outs for both girls and boys teams; assistance with transportation for state Track and Field and State Softball, as well as assistance with lodging and other expenses at State Wrestling Championships.

The Booster Club has also assisted with volleyball camps and recognition shirts for student athletes participating in the Speed and Agility Quickness Program.

New members are always encouraged and welcomed to join the Emmetsburg Athletic Booster Club, along with all long-time members of the organization.

Without the support of the public, the Booster Club would not be able to achieve its ongoing goal of benefiting the student athletes of the district.

The Emmetsburg Athletic Booster Club is YOUR booster club. Every donation to the Booster Club is recognized on the programs, which are handed out at the various athletic events during the school year.

Each year, approximately 6,000 programs are printed through donations made by the Pizza Ranch of Emmetsburg, The Emmetsburg Reporter and Democrat newspapers and The Print Shop, which provides a very cost-effective way for parents, friends, relatives and businesses to show their support for the student athletes of the Emmetsburg Community School District.

Persons wishing to become a member of the Emmetsburg Athletic Booster Club, or to renew their membership, can drop off their $35 membership at the Wells Fargo Bank in Emmetsburg, located at 1101 Broadway, attention Kay Wollum, or by mailing their membership check to Zeline Gappa at 3005 6th Street in Emmetsburg.

Memberships should be paid as soon as possible in order to facilitate printing of the programs for the opening games of the volleyball and football seasons at Emmetsburg High School.
