By Staff | Jul 22, 2008

An Emmetsburg girl will be one of the elite All Star Cheerleading squad members for the 2008 Iowa Shrine All Star Football game in Ames. The Shrine All Star game is set for Saturday, August 2 at Jack Trice Stadium at Iowa State University in Ames.

Opheim auditioned for the Shrine All Star Cheerleading squad earlier this year and was selected to join the elite squad of cheerleaders who will participate in the annual fundraising philantrophy for the Shrinters Hospiatals of North America.

After arriving in Ames for the Shrine Game, both the football players and cheerleaders will visit the Twin Cities Shriners’ Hospital in order to better understand the charity they are supporting through their talents.

The Iowa Shrine Bowl Game annual features the 88 best high school players in the state as selected by the Iowa Football Coaches Assoication.
