Lady E’Hawk Thinclads Take Second

SPIRIT LAKE – A second place finish and several new personal records were claimed by the Emmetsburg Lady E’Hawks at Tuesday’s Sheryl Maahs Relays in Spirit Lake.

The shuttle hurdle relay, with Nicole Leuer, Katie Malm, Bailee Moore and Kayla Herbers, set a new season’s best mark and won with a 1;08.84. Kayla Herbers also earned first place in the 400 meter run, finishing with a 1:09.99 time.

The 4×200 relay, with Tacee Leebens, Katie Malm, Nicole Leuer and Mollie Smith, took second with a 1:56.29 effort and the 4×100 relay, with Mollie Smith, Tacee Leebens, Jordan Kerber and Jaimee Kerber, finished second in :53.19, their season’s best time. Kayla Herbers also earned a second place finish in the 100 hurdles, with her time of :15.84.

Jaimee Kerber earned third in the long jump, leaping 14’10.25” and Mollie Smith took fourth in the 100 meter dash with a :13.41 clocking. Katie Malm set a new personal best time in the 200 dash, finishing fourth with a :28.57 time, while Blake Schany took fourth in the 400 hurdles in 1:20.15.

The Distance Medley relay, with Jordan Kerber, Maddison Woodruff, Molli Schmeling and Bailee Moore, was fourth in 5:00.84 and the Sprint Medley Relay, with Mollie Smith, Jaimee Kerber, Tacee Leebens and Kayla Herbers, took fourth in 2:02.63.

Mariah Andreasen set a new personal best mark in the high jump, as she cleared 4’10” for fifth place honors. Alex Lock earned fifth place in the shot put with a toss of 32’11.25“. Jaimee Kerber placed fifth in the 100 meter dash in :13.52 and Nicole Leuer claimed fifth in the 100 hurdles with a :16.71 effort.

For the Lady E’Hawk Junior Varsity, a fourth place finish was the end result of their day. Jordan Kerber took first in the 100 meter dash with a :13.30 time, a new personal best. The Shuttle hurdle relay, with Blake Schany, Chelsey Rouse, Nikki Schany and Jordan Morris, took first in 1:14.87 and the 4×100 relay, with Alisha Dunnick, Nicole Leuer, Maddison Woodruff and Katie Malm, took first with a :55.16, their season’s best time.

Alisha Dunnick placed second in the long jump, leaping 13’10.5″ and the 4×200 relay, with Alisha Dunnick, Jordan Morris, Maddison Woodruff and Nikki Schany, took second place with a time of 2:06.

Jordan Morris placed third in the 200 meter dash with a :31.79 time and Maddison Woodruff claimed third in the long jump, leaping 13’2“. the 4×400 relay, with Kaitlin Weisbrod, Jordan Kerber, Nicole Leuer and Blake Schany, finished third in 4:58.63 and the Sprint Medley relay, with Tiffany Wollum, Nikki Schany, Chelsey Rouse and Jordan Morris, earned fourth place with a 2:27.92 effort. Jordan Morris took fourth in the 100 hurdles with a :17.72 time and Alisha Dunnick finished the 100 meter dash in :13.85 for a fourth place finish.

Nichole Hasbrouck would place fifth in the discus, throwing 80’11” and Chelsey Rouse placed sixth in the 100 hurdles with a time of :18.09, a new personal best effort.

The Lady E’Hawks will host their own invitational today (Thursday) at Emmetsburg before traveling to the Lakes Conference meet at Estherville Lincoln Central on Monday, May 5. The girls will complete in 2A Regional track on Saturday, May 10, at Eagle Grove.
