Emmetsburg’s trio of Drake Relays qualifiers had to run in wet conditions Friday, but represented the E’Hawks as best they could under the conditions.

Senior Jordan Mathisen would compete in the shot put and despite water in the throwing circle making footing treacherous at best, Mathisen would throw 48’6″. That effort would end up winning the E’Hawk a 12th place finish overall.

In the 110 high hurdles, E’Hawks Ethan Dykstra and Trevor Dettmann ran in the same qualifying heat. Dettmann would run a :15.97 and Dykstra finished with a :16.06, but neither qualified for the finals.

The E’Hawks return to action tonight (Tuesday) at Algona’s Hackbarth Relays.
