Lady E’Hawks Running Well In Meets

Emmetsburg’s Lady E’Hawk track and field squad have been improving their times and placings in a pair of meets this week. On Monday, the Lady E’Hawks earned fifth place honors in the Okoboji Relays at Milford, and on Tuesday, took second at the Estherville Lincoln Central Relays at Estherville.

On Monday, TheLady E’Hawks were paced by a first place finish in the shuttle hurdle relay, with Nicole Leuer, Katie Malm, Bailee Moore and Kayla Herbers, with a time of 1:08.84, also their season’s best mark.

The sprint medley relay, with Molile Smith, Jaimee Kerber, Nicole Leuer and Kayla Herbers, took second with a time of 1:58.25 and the distance medley relay, with Jordan Kerber, Maddison Woodruff, Kaitlin Weisbrod and Tacee Leebens, took third place with a 4:56.24 time.

Jaimee Kerber finished second in the long jump as she jumped 14’11.75“. Mariah Andreasen took fourth in the high jump, clearing 4’6” to tie for the placing, while the 4×400 relay, with Tacee Leebens, Molli Schmeling, Bailee Moore and Kayla Herbers took fourth with a 4:27.30 clocking. Katie Malm also earned fourth place in the 100 meter hurdles, finishing with a time of :16.50, her personal best of the season.

In the 4×200 relay, Jaimee Kerber, Nicole Leuer, Daniell McCartan and Kayla Herbers took fifth place with a 1:56.85 time and the 4×100 relay, with Mollie Smith, Nicole Leuer, Maddison Woodruff and Jaimee Kerber, also finished fifth with a time of :55.02, which was also the seson’s best time.

Bailee Moore also earned fifth in the 100 meter hurdles with a :16.58 clocking, another personal best mark, and Alex Lock placed sixth in the shot put with a throw of 33’6.5“. The 4×800 relay with Blake Schany, Alisha Dunnick, Jordan Morris and Kaitlin Weisbrod, finished sixth in a time of 12:08.71 to round out the placings.

Other finishes included Hillary Pico with a shot put throw of 27’4″ for a personal best effort and Katie Malm with a long jump effort of 14’2.5“.

Morgan Vlasman cleared 4’6″ in the high jump for a personal best, and Blake Schany ran the 400 hurdles in a time of 1:21.67. Molli Schmeling ran the 400 meter dash in 1:09.51, while Mara Lee finished the 1500 meters in a time of 7:05.06 and teammate Brenda Tonderum finished the 1500 in 7:26.12.

In the 800 meter run, Tacee Leebens finished in 2:48.88 and Kaitlin Weisbrod ran a personal record with her time of 2:52.47. Mollie Smith finished the 200 meter dash in :28.73, a personal record and Morgan Vlasman also set a personal record in the 200, finishing in :29.73. Mollie Smith would run the 100 meters in :13.41 and Jordan Kerber finished the 100 meters in :13..89.

The following evening, Emmetsburg ran well in a second place finish at the Estherville Lincoln Central Relays.

Leading the way was the first place finish of Kayla Herbers in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of :15.81, a personal best and then won the 400 hurdles with a 1:09.73 time, another personal best. Mariah Andreasen tied for the win in the high jump, clearing 4’8” and setting a new personal best mark, while Tacee Leebens earned first place in the 200 meter dash with a :228.59 time, a personal best, and the Shuttle Hurdle Relay, with Nicole Leuer, Katie Malm, Bailee Moore and Kayla Herbers, took first with their 1:09.93 effort.

Nicole Leuer took second in the 400 hurdles with a time of :16.59, while the 4×100 relay, with Mollie Smith, Nicole Leuer, Jordan Kerber and Jaimee Kerber, took second in a time of :53.80, a relay best time.

Katelyn Schany took second in the discus, throwing 94’3″ and Jaimee Kerber took second in the long jump, leaping 13’11“.

Alex Lock earned third in the shot put with a throw of 32’3.5″ and Katie Malm was third in the long jump, leaping 13’8“. Morgan Vlasman was third in the 200 meter dash with a time of ::29.83 and Mollie Smith took third in the 100 meter dash with her :13.15 clocking, a personal best. Blake Schany took third in the 400 hurdles with a time of 1:16.79, a new personal best and the sprint medley relay, with Jordan Kerber, Mollie Smith, Nicole Leuer and Tacee Leebens, took third with a 2:06.71 time. The 4×400 relay, with Tacee Leebens, Molli Schmeling, Bailee Moore and Kayla Herbers, also placed third in a time of 4:34.66.

The distance medley relay, with Jordan Kerber, Maddison Woodruff, Molli Schmeling and Bailee Moore, took fourth place honors with a 4:57.02 time. Morgan Vlasman claimed a tie for the fourth place finish in the high jump with a jump of 4’6″, her personal best. Jaimee Kerber also took fourth place in the 100 meter dash with a :13.25 clocking, a personal record.

Blake Schany earned fifth place in the 400 meter dash with a time of 1`:10.75 and Hillary Pico earned eighth place in the shot put, throwing 25’8.50″.

The Lady E’Hawks will run in Spencer on Friday.
