Lady E’Hawks Defeat Cherokee, ELC Golfers

CHEROKEE – Emmetsburg’s Lady E’Hawk golf squad continued to play solid golf on Monday as they earned a Lakes conference dual win over Cherokee and Estherville Lincoln Central. Emmetsburg won with a 229 stroke total, while Cherokee shot a 250 and Estherville Lincoln Central carded a 253.

Abby Bird would earn the meet medalist honors for the Lady E’Hawks, as she carded a round of 49. The rest of the Emmetsburg scores included a 53 from Katie Heddinger, while Megan Myers shot a 63. April Corley shot a 64, while Tori Heldt carded a 67 and Cortney Gappa shot a round of 70.

In the junior varsity portion of the meet, Emmetsburg would also take the top honors, as the young Lady E’Hawks shot a 237 stroke total, with Cherokee shooting a 253 and Estherville Lincoln Central carding a 293 stroke total.

For the Emmetsburg junior varsity squad, Jenny Hoch shot a round of 52, while Janna Hoch carded a 56. Krista Peaslee shot a 64, while Taylor McCartan carded a round of 65.

Other scores included Amanda Walters with a round of 72, Amanda Pugh with a round of 73 and Emily Lowman carded a round of 74.
